The sun was just rising on the horizon, the birds just stirring when a cry rang out through the land. "Hello?" The stallion cantered proudly up to the bottom of a hill, and looked around, his dark orbs scanning the trees for any signs of life. He shook his creamy head, silky mane flying, and galloped to the top of the hill. "Is anyone here?" he neighed again. There was no answer, only the echo of his deep, lilting voice. It was nice here, the grass lush, the sun beginning to warm his light pelt. He dropped his head and proceeded to graze, relishing the sweet, juicy grass. He did not know why he was here, but he went where his instinct said to go, so that was that.
The sun continued on its slow upwards journey through the sky, and just as it was above the hillock where he was grazing, he lifted his head and looked out across the country. His creamy coat glittered in the sunlight, and instead of a palomino, he stood as a magnificent golden stallion, gilded by the sunrise. Of course, all this was unbeknownst to the stud, for he did not bother to look upon himself. Instead he pricked his ears and sniffed the fresh clean air, then continued to graze. It was not his way to act full of himself, but he did think he was a pretty handsome guy. 'I should at least attract a few pretty mares." He thought happily. The grass here was especially good, and he enjoyed every mouthful. The sunrise was beautiful, and Dante watched it's slow arc into the sky.

Black coat shining in the bright sunlight, glistening off the dampness of her coat. It was very warm out, and the black mare was sweating underneath her heavy black coat. But she didn't mind. Having grown up in the mountains, he coat was thick, even in the summer weather, but it didn't bother her too much. Despite this, the mare kept up a brisk trot, making her way through the luscious grassy terrain.
She wasn't sure why she was here, but she found the place nice, almost relaxing for the hot tempered mare. Picking her feet up high, she caught the scent of a stallion up ahead, and stopped, head up, nostrils flared, tail up. Excitement began coursing through her veins, and she whinnied shrilly, then trotted in the direction of the horses scent. Why was she so excited over a stallion? Then, she caught herself. No, you're excited to have company. She corrected herself. She trotted over a hill, and there he was...
She was nearly knocked over. He was a palomino stallion, but in the sunlight, he was a golden god of the land. Nyx blinked, and made her way over to him. Trying to compose herself, and make herself look desirable, she looked at the horse. "Hi handsome, my name is Nyx, what is yours?" she asked with a grin. Holy shit did I really just say that?

WORK IN PROGRESS
Dante looked up as a shrill whinny echoed through the meadow. A cute black mare strutted towards him. He gave her a cheeky wink as she introduced herself. Nyx. Had a nice sort of feeling on his tongue. "Good morning. I am called Dante. Dante Allregio, but just Dante is fine." He tossed his head proudly and looked her over. She was quite a gorgeous mare, shiny black coat, despite the morning being unusually hot. He breathed in the fresh air and horsey smell, and rested on three legs. "And what might a fine, good looking mare like you be doing out here?" He asked
She was looking a little shocked, probably because she'd done something unexpected, he thought. Mares tended to do that around him, although he had no idea why. Sometimes Dante could be very Naive. He shook his head and came back to the present moment, keen to hear the filly's answer. Gosh, she was a nice looking vix. He flicked his creamy-white mane out of his eyes and arched his neck proudly, tail foaming in the breeze. He was a handsome stallion and boy, was he gonna show it.

]Despite the fact that she was almost certain he was being a little too polite, and just trying to make a good impression, Nyx was flattered. After all, she had called him handsome, so he was just returning the favor. She smiled warmly at him, and tossed her head. He was a proud horse, that much was for sure, his golden coat sparkling in the morning sunlight. She whickered softly at him, and picked up a light, floating trot, almost in place as she danced around him. She wasn't sure what this was all about, but she was having fun.
Some horses might think she was playing games, but she was doing nothing of the sort. She was happy, excited, and so she danced. This horse was the most drop dead gorgeous stallion she had ever met, but she would have to get to know him before she decided that she really liked him. She was picky with her stallions. They had to pass a large number of tests before she accepted them. She had always been this way, never fully trusting anyone until she knew them well enough. "Nice to meet you," she said kindly. She stopped in front of him, her smile was warm, but her eyes questioned.
Are you good enough, brute?

She would test him, of that, he was sure. Nyx was a lovely mare to look at, and she seemed very smart. Around him she danced, her eyes casting him a challenge. He was handsome, yes, but was he smart enough? That was the real question. "The day is fine, a little hot though..." He smiled, slightly dizzy from watching her prance around him. He liked this mare already. Wanted her to be his, although he was unsure if that was possible. Strange for him, he was always confident of everything. This filly was making him n e r v o u s...
He shook his head and walked up beside her, partly to stop her trotting, and partly in friendliness. "So, what are you up to, lovely?" He asked, pressing against her warm black hide. His cream coat looked very light next to her dark bodice. He waited, wondering if she was thinking of a challenge for him. He hoped he could meet her expectations...

She did not shy away when he pressed up against her. However, she did not press her weight against him in return, but she smiled wickedly. Not necessarily in a mean way, but with a sassy look. It seemed as though he was making a very mild, respectful attempt at claiming her. She could tell he wanted her...his body language, the way he spoke even. However, he was very good about it; he knew she could just turn around and bolt if she wanted to. She was a free agent.
She looked the palomino directly in the eye, and felt a tingling sensation run through her spine. With a soft whicker, she flicked her tail, lashing it against him with a smirk. She moved away, her tail swishing, and she managed to flick it right in his face. "Just a young mare, out looking for an adventure," she said smoothly. Yes, the lines were overused, but she was still throwing things out at him. Was he interested enough? She knew that she was. However, she wanted to make sure that he would go anywhere with her. She stopped several feet away, and looked at the golden stallion, her tail swishing gently at the few flies that settled on her sides. He was a handsome boy, how she wanted to be with him! Not yet...

She flicked her tail, catching him on the nose. He gave her an answering grin, although not so wicked. She stepped away and stared into his eyes. "An adventure? And might you be looking for someone to share it with?" He asked, cautiously but slyly. He took a step towards her, then stopped. Lowering his head bashfully, he looked up from under his long pale forelock. "Are you?" He quickly shifted his gaze to the floor, almost boyishly.
How this mare made his body tingle with excitement. She was a sassy young thing, and he liked her spirit. Be mine... he thought to himself. Her voids ensnared him, pulled him into an inescapable trance. They were gorgeous (like the rest of her) deep and mocking.
Oh! If only she would come with him now!
Notes: Sorry, shortish posts are as good as I'll get at the moment. Word Count: Eeeew. 145! TERRIBLE!!! Notes: Boy, Dante is a subtle dude! (lolz)
